Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026

This policy explains what NiyamHQ (“we”) collects when you use https://niyamhq.in, and how we use it. We aim to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Calculator inputs

Calculators run entirely in your browser. The salary, turnover and tax figures you type are not sent to our servers.

One exception: if you tap “Check live status” in the GSTIN validator, that GSTIN alone is sent to our verification provider to fetch its public registration record. Nothing else you typed is sent and the result is cached for 30 days. Live checks need a signed-in paid account; we use your account only to allow the check and limit its rate, and the cached record is not linked to it.

Information you give us

  • Email alerts: your email address, state and the alert types you choose. Used only to send reminders and updates you asked for.
  • Contact and referral requests: your name, email, phone, company and message. With your consent, we share these with the CA or consultant you ask to be connected with.

Consent (DPDP Act, 2023)

We collect personal data only after your clear, specific consent at the point of collection:

  • Alert signup: submitting the form is your consent to receive deadline reminders for the alert types you tick. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link — unsubscribing withdraws consent instantly.
  • Contact / expert referral: submitting the form is your consent for us to contact you about your query, and — only if you asked for an introduction — to share your details with that CA or consultant.
  • Saved calculations and accounts: creating an account is your consent for us to store the calculations, clients and settings you save. Deleting your account deletes this data.

Consent covers only the purpose stated above each form. We never use your data for an unrelated purpose without fresh consent, and children's data is not knowingly collected.

Analytics and cookies

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. Each tool loads only when its ID is configured — if unconfigured, nothing loads:

  • Vercel Analytics: cookieless, aggregate page-view statistics. No cross-site tracking.
  • Google Analytics 4 (optional): loads only if a measurement ID is set, with IP anonymisation enabled. Opt out any time with Google's opt-out add-on or by blocking third-party scripts.
  • Microsoft Clarity (optional): loads only if a project ID is set, to replay anonymised sessions for usability fixes. No keystroke capture of calculator inputs — inputs never leave your browser in the first place.
  • AdSense (optional): loads only on pages with ad slots and only if a publisher ID is set. Google may use cookies for ad personalisation subject to its own policy.

We run no fingerprinting and no cross-site trackers. If we add advertising or session-recording tools, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.

Service providers

We use trusted processors to host the site and send email. They process data only on our instructions.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from any email with one click, and ask us to access, correct or delete your data by writing to hello@niyamhq.in.

Retention

We keep subscriber data while you are subscribed, and contact requests for up to 24 months, unless the law requires longer.

Contact

Grievance and privacy queries: hello@niyamhq.in. Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may ask for access, correction, erasure or grievance redressal at the same address — we respond within the statutory timelines.
